Project: Grey Court School
Main Contractor: Lakehouse
Architect: A Studio
Services: Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing
REL has delivered a £1.2m mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) contract for a new school in Richmond, Surrey.
Appointed by contractor Lakehouse, REL completed the works within seven months as part of the £5m extension to Grey Court School. The project has resulted in a new, two-storey sixth form centre offering improved facilities for students including a science laboratory, ICT learning resources, art and music space plus a large performing arts hall.
REL was responsible for all mechanical, electrical and plumbing works including ventilation, cooling and heating systems, installation of power, data, fire alarms, access controls and audio-visual equipment including lighting rigs in the performing arts hall.
The site’s high-end, commercial finish meant that the work either had to be hidden or installed to exact symmetrical or perpendicular measurements on exposed surfaces.
