Located in Bromley, Glebe School is a foundation secondary special school for students aged 11-19.
Lakehouse appointed REL to deliver M&E services for an extension at the school resulting in a new teaching block with classrooms spread over three floors. The expansion has created spaces for more than 100 pupils with special educational needs.
Working to a tight four-month programme, REL was responsible for the design and build of the M&E works for the new space. Built to a BREEAM Very Good standard, an air source heat pump provides the primary source of power, which was also sourced and installed by REL.
The project had the additional challenge of being constructed adjacent to the existing SEN school, so the existing services had to be adapted without disruption to the existing school.
