REL expands team with new appointment

REL Building Services has expanded its team with the appointment of Mark Edwards as a senior quantity surveyor.

In his new role, Mark will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of REL’s projects, including cost control, financial reporting, and contractual reviews. Mark began his career as a mechanical estimator before moving into quantity surveying. He spent six years as a senior quantity surveyor for a leading consultancy in London where he also gained valuable experience as a commercial director.

His expertise has seen him deliver MEP projects up to £18m, including the 100 Liverpool Street Station development, Building S5 in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, the Berkeley Street PCSA pre-construction phase (opposite the Ritz Hotel), and a mixed-use development at Hanover Square.

Speaking about his new role, Mark said: “Working for REL offered the opportunity to work for a growing, well-established company and to lead the commercial aspects of the business. REL has further plans for growth and I believe my experiences and skills gained commercially and mechanically will be well suited to the direction REL is heading.”

Toby Buckley, REL’s managing director, added: “Mark has a proven track record in our sector with experience of high-profile projects in London, working as a sole quantity surveyor while also heading up commercial teams. His skillset is an ideal match for our growing team and diverse projects.”
