NAW 2021: Why I chose an apprenticeship

“I chose an apprenticeship as I’m not the type of person who likes to learn new things from books. I prefer to learn by physically doing something.

“The main benefits are that you can earn while you learn, both knowledge wise and financially. You learn skills that will help you throughout your life and you gain experience of what it’s like in the workplace.

“I enjoy the hands-on aspect of being an apprentice and having the support of the other electricians if I ever need any help. You are mentored by your work colleagues to help you become better at your craft. Also, I like working with other apprentices on site as we can grow as electricians together.

“I would recommend an apprenticeship to others especially if you enjoy hands on learning and want to gain vital life skills through work.”
